For My Father is a broadcast hour documentary on the life of my father, Inderjit Mahal.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
This film came out of one of my deepest regrets.

I never got to hear my mother's story from her, I never got to ask her what her life was like at my age, I never got to ask her about her dreams and aspirations. She passed away in a sudden accident.

I couldn't make that mistake twice. I wanted to make sure that I could preserve my father's life and his stories with a film. A film that I could show future generations of our family to show them just how amazing of a man he was. 

My father was never one to talk about himself, but after a few weeks of shooting this documentary I was learning who he really was under his tough exterior. It has been one the most enlightening experiences of my life. The process has allowed me to see him as more than just a father. He is an extraordinarily courageous man who risked everything to give his family the best life he could.
